John Carter is a war-weary Civil War soldier who falls asleep in a cave, and wakes up on Mars, a lush planet which the natives called Barsoom. Chased by the huge, green Tharks and in love with the beautiful Dejah Thoris he has to win her freedom and find safety on the red planet . . . Based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' kick-ass series of pulpy adventure novels and directed by Andrew Stanton of Wall-E and Finding Nemo fame, this promises to be a beautifully filmed, action-packed adventure like no other.
