"Unashamedly populist, cleverly conceived and riotously funny" Western Mail Mappa Mundi
The importance of Being Earnest
This, the most popular and razor witted of Oscar Wilde's
social comedies, is a brilliant demonstration of the
dramatic diamond cutter's art.
Mappa Mundi's brand new and perfectly
honed production allows a modern audience
to be dazzled by that brilliance.Jack and Algy are in love with Gwendolen and Cecily, who both believe themselves to be in love with the non-existent Ernest. Add a handbag, an absent minded nanny and the redoubtable Lady Bracknell into the wonderful lunacy and symmetry of the plot and you have the ultimate satirical farce. Wilde's sparkling one-liners shine through to skewer the manners and morals of the pretentious and those to the manor born.
Mappa Mundi's set, costume, music, and lighting
display all the mechanics of theatre with an
elaborate perfection. Audiences can look
forward to a high quality and unique rendition
of this, the most dazzling of comedies, from
a company at the forefront of theatre in Wales.
Make sure you catch them - this is a real gem!
"I hope you will enjoy my 'trivial' play.
It is written by a butterfly for butterflies. [The play]
has its philosophy . . . that we
should treat all the trivial things seriously,
and the serious things in life with sincere and studied triviality."
Oscar Wilde

The Man who Planted TreesA magical, comical, multi-sensory adaptation of
Giono's well loved story. One man
and his dog set out to transform a barren wilderness.
"Entrancing - a unique experience that tugs at the heart strings, induces chuckles of pure delight and warm tears of joy and sadness - not to be missed!!" Robin Harper, MSP
"I wrote this story to make people love trees, or more precisely to make people love planting trees. Of all my stories it is one of the ones of which I am most proud. It has never earned me a penny and for that reason it has accomplished the very purpose for which it was written."

The Strawbs
Strawbs return in their electric format for a series of shows in May/June 2008.
It is remarkable that the line-up is exactly the same as it was in 1973 when they first played together.Strawbs first hit the charts in the UK and Europe in the early 1970s with 'Grave New World' and 'Bursting at the Seams'. From the mid-1970s Strawbs concentrated their attention on the United States and Canada where their albums, including the classics 'Hero and Heroine' and 'Ghosts', spent over fifty-two weeks on the Billboard charts. Strawbs toured regularly with the likes of Santana, Peter Frampton, The Eagles, REO Speedwagon, Joe Walsh, Blue Oyster Cult, King Crimson, and Frank Zappa.
Rick Wakeman played with Strawbs for two years before moving on to achieve world-wide success with Yes, and as a solo artist. The much-loved Sandy Denny made an album with Strawbs before she joined Fairport Convention.

American singer song-writer Christene LeDoux
Christene LeDoux's down to earth approachability and heart-warming songs are quickly winning the hearts of both fan and industry alike. It's no surprise this Internationally-touring songwriter has sold over 11,000 CD's independently since the release
of her Debut album, "Little Lighthouse."
"The lyrics of Christene LeDoux are so clear and vivid that with each note and tone she emits, a detailed form seems to take shape in our minds. To call LeDoux a storyteller is to understate her skills. She is an artist creating exquisite imagery through song." Arthur Jefferson of 'San Francisco Art Magazine
